WebCD Globe Including Internet Link Icons in HTML

When a user is viewing an HTML page on a WebCD, some links in the HTML page may take the user outside of the WebCD to a live Web site. The Internet Link icon feature of the WebCD Packager allows you to include an icon after any link that will take the user to a live Web site.

This feature is optional and is turned off by default. Activate this feature on the Edit HTML Options dialog, accessed by selecting Options from the Build menu and then clicking the Edit HTML tab.

During the build of your WebCD Viewer image, WebCD Packager determines which links are "live" (to a live Web site) and which are "local" (on the WebCD). If you have the Internet Link Icon feature turned on, WebCD Packager automatically places the Live-Link icon or an icon you specify (see the paragraph below for an explanation of icons used) directly after any text links that are "live". This applies to links of any protocol--http, ftp, mailto, new, etc.

Note In order to preserve the appearance of the HTML page, the Internet link icon is not placed next to links embedded in server or client side image maps, inline images, inline sounds, background images, form actions, frames, or clickable images.

By default, WebCD Packager uses the WebCD Live-Link icon Live-Link Button to represent links to the live Web site. To use your own icon, on the Edit HTML Options dialog, specify the GIF image file you wish WebCD Packager to use.
